Audience feedback

After watching the video they both said they liked the video and were both interested throughout the whole video.

positive:
  • liked the settings as they portrayed the urban, hip hop industry
  • the camera angles and shots were good as it followed the main artist
  • liked the ending when the main artist walks towards the sunshine
  • the digipak background as it was graffiti and relates to the genre
  • the clothing
  • praveena liked how the clothing was the same for all three products as it shows they are all linked and it makes it more recognisable
negative
  • the ending could have been improved by both the male artist and female character walking into the sunshine together
  • Jordan dislikes the fact that he is wearing the same clothing for all three products as he thinks it doesn't give the audience anything to look forward to and its boring
  • felt the main artist was forcing it too much, it didn't look natural
  • the lighting can be improved as its too dark and blurry

Audience Feedback

I played the song "sunshine" to a male and female and asked them what they would expect to see in the video.
They said:
  • romanic love story
  • settings would be either in a bar or on a beach
  • urban settings
  • bright summery clothes as it will be summer (for the female character high-waisted shorts with a tank top and for the male artist baggy jeans with high tops, shades and a chain)
for the digipak they expected:
  • a close up image of the main artist
  • the artist would be wearing the same outfit in the video and on the digipak to show they link
for the magazine advertisement they expected:
  • Praveena said she would expect a full body shot of the main artist in the same clothing so all 3 products link
  • Jordan said he would expect a close up shot with lighting such as a spotlight in the background

Audience feedback

positive:
  • there are many diffrent camera angles and shots such as the low angle shot on the bridge and also the high angle shot on the bridge
  • clothing and settings (graffiti background) relate to the genre hip hop
  • likes the unique idea of how the artist was portrayed as a gentleman and wearing a suit shows he's different to typical hip hop artists as he is portrayed as classy, sophisticated and decent
  • likes the lighting in the day
  • can see how digipak, advertisment and video are linked as the clothing and settings are the same also same theme on all
negative:
  • improve the lighting
  • used the streets more as it portrays hip hop

FINAL INSIDE LEFT PANEL FOR DIGIPAK

Here we took of the artist and album name as it is already on the front cover and the audience thought it just repeats again and again therefore we took it of so the graffiti wall and nature stands out more and follows the theme

FINAL BACK COVER FOR DIGIPAK

We recieved negative feedback from the audience saying that the song titles do not make sense, therefore we re-aranged the order so that it displays a journey of Kairo's life improving with the positive titles at the end

FINAL FRONT COVER FOR DIGIPAK

Due to negative audience feedback we decided to change the image of the artist on the front cover. The audience thought the image on the first digipak was too cheesy and clashed with the genre hip hop. Therefore we decided to use a more serious photo for the front cover to show the artist is serious, hardworking and also represents star image, this photo goes well with the hip hop genre as from previous research we found that most hip hop artists have serious faces on there digipak covers to portray masuclinity and that they are serious about there career and life. He is looking straight into the camera which makes the audience feel more involved as well as portray confidence.

Final Poster

This is the final poster for advertising the digipak. The photo we have taken of our main artist is of his full body to show his clothes and body language as this will give the audience an idea of what the artist is like and to recognise the hip hop genre conventions such as his clothing e.g. baggy jeans, hoody and silver chain. His facial expression has a cheeky smile to show his cheeky, bubbly personality. He is also looking into the camera which make it seem as there is a connetion with the artist and audience which makes it feel more personal to the audience hopefully interesting the audience more into buying the album. The font is simple so that it is easy to ready for the audience, moreover the colours used are red, black and white which stands out from the background again making it easier to read. We have mentioned the record labed "Real Lies Entertainment" in the top corner so the audience recognize it.

Inside digipak

These will be inside our digipak, we will be sticking to the theme of the front cover and back cover of the grafitti background however we are still deciding whether this will look better in colour or in black and white.

digipak back cover

This is our back cover flatplan draft. Similarly to the front cover we are keeping it simple with the grafitti wall and artist as the background with simple fonts as the background is very colourful, however to make it more interesting and unique the font will be going down in a horizontal line it also makes it look more eccentric.

digipak flatplan draft

This is our digipak plan, we are going to have our artist posing infront of a grafitti wall to portray the streets which links with the hop hop genre as most hip hop videos are made in the streets as most artists show where there from. This helps the audience recognize the hip hop genre and also some of the audience mey be able to relate to the artist more being from the streets. we will be keeping the font plain and simple so no attention is taken away from the artist.
